The Plantheads Landscape and Garden Design Difference
Why choose Plantheads Landscape and Garden Design over one of the big landscape companies?
Because we’re small!
We can offer more personal care of your landscape, with an attention to detail that the big companies can’t. With Plantheads Landscape and Garden Design, your landscape will not be installed or maintained by harried laborers, who may be trained to work quickly, but not in the culture of the plants that they are installing or maintaining. Also, with very low overhead, Plantheads Landscape and Garden Design doesn’t have to inflate our prices, so you get quality service for a good price. Of course, for larger jobs, I work with quality area landscape contractors. I have also worked with other contractors with whom my clients have a working relationship.
Because we design landscapes with an artist’s eye!
Before earning a Certificate in Home Landscape Horticulture, (as well as a Certificate in Botanical Illustration), from The Morton Arboretum and starting Plantheads Landscape and Garden Design in 2005, I studied art at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and Moore College of Art and Design, where painting was my major. I have been drawing and painting all my life. Understanding the basics of all good design, (composition, color, unity, balance, contrast, and variety), is the difference between just filling a landscape with plants, and creating a living work of art.
Because we ask important questions!
Before a design can start, Plantheads Landscape and Garden Design finds out how the clients will be using their landscapes, so we can create a design that is in harmony with their lifestyle. We talk about likes and dislikes, and how much time the client has for maintenance. We don’t just concentrate on how things will look from the street. Our designs also consider pleasing views from inside the home or business for all four seasons. We also do a thorough analysis of the site; noting sunny and shady spots, wetter and drier spots, views to highlight or block, soil type, and select plant material accordingly.
